Bangladesh's temporary PM vows to stand with Rohingya Muslims.
The new Bangladeshi Prime Minister, who's been temporarily elected, Mohammad Yunis, announced in his first political statement on Sunday, August 18, that over one million Rohingya Muslims will be protected in the new government era.
The new Prime Minister, who is 84 years old, recently returned from Europe after the massive protests by students in Bangladesh. These protests were aimed at controlling the mess left by the previous government, advocating for democratic reforms, and rebuilding the shattered parts of institutions.
The Prime Minister, Yunis, vowed to the representatives of the UN that his government aims to control the most crucial problems of the country, noting that his government is working hard to support the one million Rohingya Muslims of Bangladesh."
He concluded, “We are striving to let Rohingya Muslims go back to where they belong in Myanmar, to live in peace and dignity in their homeland with full rights, and that needs sustainable efforts by the entire globe and international influencers."
