The 17th International Calligraphy and Heritage Exhibition, dedicated to the theme of Muharram, has opened at the State Lalit Kala Academy in Lucknow, according to The Times of India.

Organized by One Wise Trust in collaboration with the UP Urdu Academy and the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Committee, the exhibition pays tribute to the values of sacrifice, spirituality, and resilience. It brings together more than 100 artists from countries including Iran, Iraq, Spain, and the United Kingdom, alongside students from local institutions such as Karamat College and Unity College.

The exhibition showcases a range of artistic expressions—including calligraphy, paintings, and photography—that capture the spiritual and cultural dimensions of Muharram. Many works feature Quranic verses and imagery of Karbala, presented through distinctive artistic techniques. Visitors have praised the exhibition for its creativity and depth, with special recognition given to the powerful contributions of women artists and its educational impact on younger audiences.

Organizers say the exhibition seeks to spread Imam Hussain’s (peace be upon him) timeless message of humanity and justice, while promoting unity through the universal language of art. The exhibition is open to the public daily until July 3.
