Al-Safeer Hospital operates free operations within the Shrine's medical Initiative
Al-Safeer Surgical Hospital, affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, performs surgeries until late at night as part of the free-of-charge initiative announced by the Holy Shrine, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Hassan (PBUH) 14–16 of Ramdhan in the Holy City of Karbala.
Eng Abbas Abd Ali, the hospital's administrative assistant, said to Karbala International Agency, "The initiative included qualitative services, as joints (knees and hips) will be purchased for patients who need complex joint replacement. In addition to performing arthroscopic knee operations using the brand-new device recently brought to the hospital."
He explained, "Performing such operations in private hospitals costs around 7–12 million IQD, noting that around 60 surgical operations were performed on many Iraqi patients from different cities as directed by Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalaie."
