Karbala's Health Directorate has provided medical services to more than 121,000 pilgrims and patients during the Arbaeen pilgrimage as part of its comprehensive healthcare plan.

Director General Dr. Ali Mohammed Saleh Abu Tahin said hospitals treated 26,801 patients, while medical teams stationed along pilgrimage routes assisted 69,409 pilgrims. An additional 24,933 visitors received care through supporting medical teams from the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) and the Baghdad Al-Rusafa and Basra Health Directorates.

He added that ambulance teams handled 1,078 emergency transfers, medical staff performed 646 surgeries, and hospitals recorded 167 births. Healthcare facilities also conducted nearly 30,000 laboratory tests, more than 7,500 X-ray and ultrasound examinations, and 1,025 CT and MRI scans.

Abu Tahin said blood donation campaigns organized through the mobile blood bank between the Two Holy Shrines collected 2,219 units of blood to strengthen hospital supplies and support medical services throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
