Iraq’s oil exports rise to more than 3.4 million barrels per day
Iraq’s Minister of Oil, Basim Mohammed Khudair, announced on Tuesday that the country’s oil exports have increased to more than 3.4 million barrels per day this month, with shipments moving through three routes: the Strait of Hormuz, Türkiye’s Ceyhan port, and tanker trucks via Syria.
He said the Ministry of Oil, working around the clock through the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), had maintained exports at around 3 million barrels per day over the past nine months despite wartime conditions affecting the Strait of Hormuz. Exports have risen above 3.4 million barrels per day since the beginning of the current month.
Khudair added that the ministry is working to expand export capacity to increase state revenues and ensure the government has sufficient funds to meet public obligations and cover various expenditures.
