Higher Committee for Mass Pilgrimages unveils integrated transport plan for Arbaeen Pilgrimage
As part of its early preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, the Higher Committee for Mass Pilgrimages has announced a flexible and integrated transportation plan aimed at ensuring the smooth movement of pilgrims to and from the holy city of Karbala.
The Committee said the plan is based on a comprehensive operational strategy that takes into account the expected arrival of millions of pilgrims. It includes field and logistical measures to manage transportation along key routes, with particular emphasis on the return journey following the conclusion of the pilgrimage rituals.
According to the Committee, the relevant authorities are coordinating closely to implement the plan through carefully scheduled operations designed to ease traffic congestion, provide adequate transportation services, and facilitate the efficient movement of pilgrims while meeting the event's service and security requirements.
The transport plan forms part of broader government preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, one of the world's largest annual religious gatherings, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance coordination among state institutions and deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality services to pilgrims.
