Iraqi Airways announced the resumption of its domestic and international flight operations starting April 10, as part of a broader plan to reorganize air traffic and facilitate passenger travel following the completion of necessary technical and operational requirements.

In a statement, Director-General Manaf Abdul-Moneim Ajil said the first phase will include domestic flights linking Baghdad with Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Basra. At the same time, international routes will resume to Istanbul, Cairo, and Amman, operating on a structured schedule designed to ensure smooth traffic flow and meet travel demand.

Ajil noted that the move is part of a gradual and carefully planned strategy to restore the operations of the national carrier while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality. He emphasized that the airline continues to monitor developments closely to ensure efficient and secure operations.

He encouraged travelers to visit official Iraqi Airways offices inside and outside Iraq or use the airline’s online booking services to confirm reservations.

The company added that additional routes will be reactivated in phases, based on ongoing assessments and in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure the safe and sustainable operation of flights for passengers, crew, and aircraft.
