Banner of mourning raised at the Holy Shrine of Ali ibn Abi Talib
The banner of mourning has been raised atop the holy shrine of Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) as the faithful prepare to commemorate the anniversary of his martyrdom.
According to our correspondent, an atmosphere of grief and solemn reflection prevails as believers recall one of the most tragic events in Islamic history—the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), on the 21st of Ramadan.
He added that this sorrowful occasion is commemorated annually through special ceremonies that begin with the raising of the banner of mourning at the Imam Ali Shrine, with wide participation from the residents of the city and students of religious seminaries who gather to mark the occasion with reverence and remembrance.
