Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayechi, Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, emphasized the importance of the Forum of Secretaries-General of the Holy Shrines in strengthening integration and coordination, particularly in security and service-related matters, and improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims. He made these remarks during a meeting of the secretaries-general of the holy shrines.

In an interview published on the shrine’s official website, Al-Abayechi stated, “The holy shrines have attained great symbolic significance, not only in Iraq but throughout the Islamic world, owing to their religious, social, and service-oriented roles.”

He explained that the meetings address both broader issues and specific matters related to shrine administration. They also focus on developing initiatives that benefit pilgrims and Iraqi society, identifying areas for improvement, and devising effective solutions to existing challenges.

Al-Abayechi noted that “the holy shrines enjoy the trust of broad segments of society, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. This trust enhances their ability to provide guidance and contribute to addressing social and national issues.”

He further emphasized that holding these meetings regularly helps harmonize perspectives, develop common recommendations, and communicate observations to the relevant authorities. These efforts, he said, ultimately serve Iraqi society and advance the pursuit of reform.

The initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination among the holy shrines, unifying their efforts to improve services for pilgrims and contribute to the well-being of the Iraqi people.
