In support of orphans, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain renovates the home of a needy family
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, through its Department of Care for Families of Martyrs and the Wounded, has renovated the home of a needy family in Baghdad, fulfilling their dream of living in a dignified and secure residence. The initiative was carried out by the department’s staff with the support of generous donors.
The department’s media officer, Emad Al-Jash‘ami, stated that the department had received an appeal from the family of the late Diaa Shamkhi, who explained that after losing their breadwinner, they were living in a deteriorating house lacking basic necessities such as appliances, furniture, and essential services.
“After obtaining the necessary official approvals,” Al-Jash‘ami added, “the department’s staff immediately began renovation and rehabilitation work.”
He noted that the project was implemented with the contributions of donors and benefactors, and completed in record time. The house was handed back to the family after being fully renovated and furnished with furniture, appliances, and bedding.
Al-Jash‘ami concluded that a delegation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain attended the handover ceremony, inspecting the completed home and reaffirming the shrine’s continued commitment to supporting needy families as part of its ongoing humanitarian programs.
