The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abaichi, received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs. The visit aimed to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties between religious institutions and the state.

The reception was attended by senior figures from the Holy Shrine, including the Head of the Media Department, Engineer Abbas Asim Al-Khafaji; his assistant, Mr. Al-Hassan Ni’ma Al-Khafaji; and the Head of the International Media Center, Mr. Haidar Al-Mangooshi. An extended meeting followed, focusing on enhancing collaboration between the two institutions, especially in international intellectual and humanitarian fields.

Engineer Abbas Al-Khafaji noted, “This visit reflects the Holy Shrine’s ongoing efforts to engage with national and international institutions, reinforcing the role of the shrines as centers of cultural, civilizational, and spiritual influence within and beyond Iraq.”

Discussions included joint initiatives such as organizing intellectual and cultural events in cooperation with Iraqi embassies, exchanging media and public relations expertise, and coordinating religious visits and international delegations.
