Dr. Abbas Al-Jubouri, representative of the Arab Federation for Digital Empowerment's Iraq branch, and Dr. Khalil Al-Tayyar, the Federation's scientific advisor, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Media Center in Karbala. The MOU aims to foster joint activities and training programs.

Al-Jubouri said to Karbala Now Agency, “Our visit to Karbala followed an invitation from the International Media Center to the Federation's Baghdad branch. The MOU focuses on enhancing digital cooperation and training media professionals, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.”

He emphasized that the MOU marks a significant milestone for the Federation, strengthening its presence in the Arab world and fostering collaboration with experts and journalists in digital transformation.

Dr. Al-Tayyar added that the MOU was the result of ongoing communication with Arab institutions focused on digitization. This collaboration follows a visit by an Arab delegation to Karbala in late 2024 and includes joint sessions to activate cooperation with the International Media Center, a key player for media and cultural institutions.

Haidar Al-Mangooshi, head of the International Media Center, stated, “The center initiated the invitation to the Arab Union for Digital Empowerment members to visit Iraq and explore the country's cultural and intellectual movement. This MOU strengthens our media and digital efforts, and marks an important step as we aim to expand relations with media and cultural institutions.”

Al-Mangooshi further noted that the International Media Center aims to attract global figures, entities, and institutions, offering special programs to visit Iraq’s heritage sites and focusing on the country's positive image often overlooked by mainstream media.

The Arab Federation for Digital Empowerment is a non-profit organization based in Libya, with over sixteen members from across the Arab world, including top digital empowerment experts. It is in the process of joining the League of Arab States.
