The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has unveiled plans to develop several “cities for pilgrims” in different provinces across Iraq to enhance services for those visiting in honor of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).

Eng. Hussein Redha, Head of the Engineering Projects Department, explained that, under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, the shrine’s Engineering and Technical Projects Department has begun the design and approval process for these cities. The cities will be located in several regions, including Nasiriyah, Samawah, Hilla, and others.

One of the key projects will be a new 50-hectare city near the Al-Jumaimah port on the Iraqi-Saudi border, aimed at serving both pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and Umrah pilgrims.

Redha emphasized that the cities will be designed to the highest standards, ensuring comfort and quality services for all pilgrims. The initiative aims not only to enhance the pilgrimage experience but also to provide hundreds of job opportunities for Iraqis.

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine remains committed to offering the best possible services to pilgrims visiting Iraq.
