The Karbala Centre for Studies and Research affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine held the opening ceremony of the 8th International Conference on Arbaeen Pilgrimage in the Khatam al-Anbiya Hall inside the Holy Shrine.

Abdul Ameer al-Quraishi, Director of the Centre, stated to Karbala International Agency regarding the conference held under the slogan (Arbaeen Pilgrimage towards Global Approaches to Humanity and Civilisation that "over 100 international figures from 35 countries, including Germany, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, and other countries, attended the conference."

He noted, "The importance of the conference is because of its academic side, which aims to diagnose the issues and challenges in the Arbaeen pilgrimage and find appropriate scientific solutions to address these challenges and problems."

Al-Quraishi added, "Over 148 research papers were received, 100 of which were accepted, and the rest were rejected."

He concluded, "The conference's axis focused on the humanities, purely applied sciences, crowd security, crowd medicine, and crowd management, adding, "We are trying to establish a focus on the sociology field of Al-Arbaeen."
