Al-Zahra University for Girls in Karbala launched the fifth Al-Aqsa Call International Conference, bringing together delegations and participants from several countries to discuss the role of media and strategic narratives in supporting the Palestinian cause and countering misinformation through the principles of the Hussaini Revolution.

Abdul Latif Al-Haj, General Coordinator of the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, said the conference opened on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with speeches by organizers and international delegations, followed by a session titled "Living Testimonies: The True Story from the Ground." The session featured firsthand accounts from families of martyrs, former detainees, wounded Palestinians, and journalists who shared their experiences from Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Al-Haj said the first day concludes with a visit to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Najaf. On the second day, participants will visit the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in Karbala, attend a reception with the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, listen to a religious address, perform the noon prayer, and join the launch of the Al-Aqsa Call procession along the Najaf–Karbala pilgrimage route.

He said this year's conference is being held amid what he described as exceptional regional circumstances, reaffirming the organizers' commitment to highlighting the connection between the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the struggles of oppressed peoples, particularly in Gaza.
