Iraq's Border Ports Authority announced that all border crossings are operating at full capacity, 24 hours a day, to facilitate the movement of pilgrims during the Arbaeen season.
Authority Chairman Lt. Gen. Omar Al-Waeli said about 900,000 pilgrims entered Iraq during the month of Muharram, while 515,000 departed during the same period. Since the start of Safar, an additional 500,000 pilgrims have arrived, with around 150,000 departures recorded.
Al-Waeli said operations at all border crossings are being closely supervised by the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Supreme Security and Service Committee to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims.
