The city of Skardu in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region hosted the 33rd Interfaith Dialogue Conference under the theme "Hussein for All," bringing together leading religious scholars, researchers, intellectuals, and community leaders, along with participants from various Islamic sects and religious communities across Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and other parts of Pakistan.

Participants emphasized that the values embodied by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)—including justice, peace, dignity, and sacrifice—provide a strong foundation for promoting national unity, strengthening dialogue among religions and Islamic schools of thought, and fostering a culture of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

The conference also highlighted Baltistan's longstanding tradition of intercommunal harmony, with speakers stressing the importance of preserving its legacy of coexistence and brotherhood while reinforcing these values for future generations.

Among the speakers were Allama Asghar Dars, Sayyid Baqir Hussain Al-Husseini, Mohsin Ali, Abdullah Gul, Tariq Hussain, Sheikh Zahid Hussain Al-Zahidi, Mufti Qadi Fahad Chishti, Hindu community representative Lal Bhagat Khokhar, and Christian community representative Sajjad Masih.

The participants described Imam Hussain's (peace be upon him) stand at Karbala as an enduring symbol of truth, justice, freedom, and human dignity. They said his legacy offers a practical model for strengthening social cohesion, encouraging dialogue among followers of different religions and sects, and promoting the values of peace, justice, and coexistence.

The conference concluded with a call to expand interfaith and inter-sectarian dialogue and to continue promoting national unity and social harmony through the universal humanitarian principles represented by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
