Karbala welcomes media delegation from Mosul to explore religious landmarks

On October 11, 2025, a media delegation from Mosul Governorate visited the holy city of Karbala to pay tribute at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and explore the city’s rich religious and cultural heritage.

The visit was organized by the Division of Intellectual and Cultural Activities in Nineveh Governorate, which is affiliated with the Religious Affairs Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).

Sheikh Khalil Al-Alyawi, head of the division, told Karbala Now News Agency that the delegation included a group of media professionals, intellectuals, and cultural activists from Nineveh.

“The visit program reflected deep appreciation for the sanctity and historical significance of Karbala,” Sheikh Al-Alyawi said. “The delegation visited the shrines of Imam Hussain, the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him), and his brother Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), performed the visitation rituals, and learned about the ongoing service and development projects at the two holy shrines.”

He added that the visit aimed to strengthen cultural and social ties, showcase the achievements and urban development in Karbala, and highlight the city’s unique spiritual and architectural character.

Members of the delegation expressed their deep gratitude and admiration for the hospitality extended by the shrine administrations and for the advanced services provided to pilgrims. They described the visit as a profound and inspiring experience, praising the efforts made to enhance the comfort and spiritual experience of visitors to the holy city.
