On the tenth of Muharram, the Exhibitions Division of the Media Department of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the Barzanjeh people, held a mourning ceremony on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the northern city of Sulaymaniyah.

The head of the Exhibitions Division, Ali Majid Mamitha, told Karbala International Agency, “The ceremony was attended by Kurdish people of different nationalities, religious denominations and beliefs. They gathered together under the banner of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) to convey and consolidate the universal message that Hussain brings us together.”

Mamitha explained, “The Holy Shrine is keen to establish such activities in order to spread the true religion and reject the suspicions that have recently befallen the Islamic religion.”

At the end of the ceremony, food was distributed in honor of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in one of the mosques in the area.
