On the Ashura commemoration, the Holy Shrine holds free medical initiatives
The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, directed on Wednesday, October 7, the launch of two free medical initiatives, including treatment and surgeries, for all Iraqi citizens in the Holy Shrine's hospitals.
A statement from Shiekh Al-Karbalei's office included holding two free medical initiatives in the hospitals affiliated with the Holy Shrine, like Wareth International Foundation for Oncology, Zainul Abidin Surgical Hospital, Khadija Al-Kubra Centre for Women, Hassan al-Mujtaba Centre for Haematology, Lady Zainab Centre for Ophthalmology, and Al-Safeer Hospital, and the Imam Hussain Complex, for eye treatment affiliated with the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Sistani in Karbala.
They added, "The first initiative will last for three days, starting from the 11th–13th of Muharram 1446 AH. As for the second initiative, it will continue for 20 days, starting from the 20th of Muharram to the 10th of Safar 1446 AH."
The statement concluded, "The initiative launched by his eminence, Sheikh Al-Karbalai, on the occasion of Ashura embodies the principles of Imam Hussain, for which he sacrificed."
