The Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is preparing to launch the internationally accredited Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) program. Integrated with the Joint Commission International (JCI) standards and accredited by the U.S.-based National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), the program aims to train both medical and non-medical professionals to become certified experts in healthcare quality.

Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, Head of the Health and Medical Education Authority, stated, “The first edition of the CPHQ program—aligned with JCI standards and accredited by NAHQ—will be launched across all hospitals affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. It is designed to qualify quality professionals from various disciplines.”

He added that the program is part of a broader strategic vision to develop national advisory teams dedicated to improving patient safety, enhancing service efficiency, and embedding a culture of international healthcare quality. “This initiative marks a major step forward in our institutional transformation and our commitment to healthcare excellence, in line with the vision of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine,” he said.

The Health and Medical Education Authority operates under a comprehensive institutional framework aimed at strengthening human resource capabilities and developing administrative systems. This is achieved through continuous training programs that follow global standards and align with the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority’s representative, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, to improve healthcare and public services throughout Iraq.
