Imam Hussain Holy Shrine provides over 293 million dinars in aid to families of martyrs and the wounded in first half of 2025
The Department of Martyrs and Wounded Care at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced that it has disbursed more than 293 million Iraqi dinars (approximately $195,000 USD) during the first half of 2025. The funds were distributed across over 1,300 support cases, benefiting the families of martyrs, the wounded, and individuals in need throughout Iraq.
Imad Al-Jash’ami, head of the department’s Media Unit, stated, “Under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, the Holy Shrine continues its steadfast support for the families of martyrs and the wounded. From January 1 to June 30, 2025, nearly 300 million dinars were allocated to various humanitarian and financial aid initiatives.”
He explained that the assistance included medical and living expenses, monthly stipends, humanitarian relief, and seasonal programs such as Ramadan food baskets and Eid clothing.
Al-Jash’ami added, “The department continues its daily efforts to receive and process applications from the families of martyrs and the wounded. Each case is carefully reviewed and prioritized to ensure appropriate and effective support. We firmly believe that those who have sacrificed for the nation deserve to be honored and supported.”
He emphasized that this financial support is part of a broader strategic plan for 2025, which aims to expand the number of beneficiaries and enhance service offerings in response to the depth of the sacrifices made.
The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reiterates its unwavering commitment to advancing its pastoral and humanitarian mission, grounded in its religious and national responsibility, and in loyalty to the great sacrifices made by the martyrs and wounded in defense of Iraq and its holy sites. It pledges to continue and expand its support to reach the widest possible number of deserving families across all Iraqi governorates.
