Rite of Passage Ceremony for over 1,800 girls in Karbala
For the sixteenth consecutive year, the Women's Religious Preaching Division at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine organized a collective rite of passage ceremony for more than 1,800 girls who have reached the age of religious maturity. The event took place at the Camp of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Karbala, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his honorable reappearance).
The ceremony featured various segments, beginning with a recitation of the Quran, followed by a speech from Sheikh Ali Al-Mutairi, head of the Women's Religious Preaching Division. In his speech, he emphasized the significant role of girls in society and encouraged them to honor their parents and uphold religious values.
The event also included religious poetry and an educational presentation on how to perform ablution correctly. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the participating girls received commemorative items from the Shrine.
Sheikh Al-Mutairi highlighted that the annual ceremony aims to promote religious awareness among girls and reinforce the importance of their commitment to religious duties, such as prayer, fasting, and wearing the hijab. He stressed the significance of this new stage in their lives, as they transition into young women with religious responsibilities and duties.
