The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly rejected any efforts or proposals aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their land, particularly from the Gaza Strip. The ministry called on the international community to take a firm stand against such attempts.

In a statement, the Ministry condemned in the strongest terms any actions or calls for the displacement of Palestinians, especially from Gaza, which continues to endure ongoing aggression and widespread human rights abuses. The ministry stressed that these actions represent a clear violation of international law and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to their land and homeland.

Iraq reiterated its unwavering stance, rejecting any plans designed to expel the native inhabitants of Gaza, whether through forced displacement or any other method. The ministry warned that such calls pose a serious threat to regional stability and only serve to escalate the conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities, stand resolutely against any attempts to displace Palestinians, and work to safeguard their fundamental rights to live safely and with dignity on their own land.

This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump, during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday, revealed plans for the U.S. to take control of the Gaza Strip, following the displacement of its residents. Trump suggested that the U.S. would have "long-term ownership" of the territory.
