The Engineering and Technical Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is continuing construction of an orphan school complex in Al-Qasim District, Babylon Governorate. The project aims to support the education sector, strengthen educational infrastructure, and create a comprehensive learning environment that meets students’ academic and developmental needs.

Project Manager Engineer Hussein Alaa Al-Saadi told the Holy Shrine’s official website that work is progressing as part of ongoing efforts to support education and enhance school infrastructure, ensuring an integrated educational environment that serves both students and teaching staff.

He explained that the project is being funded by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine under the auspices of Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority. The initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive educational complex that integrates educational, service, and humanitarian components.

Al-Saadi noted that the project covers a total area of 5,791 m² and includes two school buildings and several service facilities. These comprise a two-story administration building spanning 250 m², which includes a public library, and a two-story kindergarten building of the same area.

The complex also features a 500 m² multipurpose hall with a ceiling height of 14 meters. In addition, the schools are being equipped with modern services and facilities designed to provide a comfortable, supportive, and well-integrated learning environment.

He added that the educational facilities will include well-equipped classrooms, digital learning technologies, computers, communication systems, and elevators. Other amenities include a cafeteria, seating areas, administrative offices, and staff break rooms.

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to implement educational and service projects across various governorates, reflecting its commitment to advancing education, improving school environments, and expanding educational opportunities for orphans and other students. These initiatives underscore the Holy Shrine’s ongoing efforts to strengthen both the educational and humanitarian dimensions of society.
