The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the continuation of work on the project to build a treatment and rehabilitation center for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Maysan Governorate.

Project Manager Engineer Ali Abdul-Mahdi Abdul-Latif stated to the Holy Shrine’s official website, "The Strategic Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the continuation of work on the project to build a treatment and rehabilitation center for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Maysan Governorate."

He explained that "the project consists of four floors and includes a range of therapeutic, educational, rehabilitative, and recreational facilities. The ground floor houses the reception area, five doctors' rooms, a meeting hall, two supervisors' rooms, a swimming pool, a physical therapy hall, an oxygen therapy room, a children's playroom, as well as six halls for speech therapy and family training, an occupational therapy hall, five elevators, and restroom facilities."

He added, "The first floor includes a prayer hall, two halls for training and counseling the children's families, two halls for accompanying persons with disabilities, eleven rooms for female supervisors, two speech therapy halls, two art studios, a kitchen and dining area for the children, and two computer activity halls, in addition to storage areas and restroom facilities." He noted that "the second floor contains six classrooms, a computer lab, a kitchen and dining area, two rooms for supervisors, a physical therapy room, administrative and financial offices, a meeting room, and restroom facilities."

He added that "the third floor comprises nine classrooms, a computer lab, two rooms for supervisors, and a fully equipped recreational area, in addition to storage rooms and restroom facilities."

This project is part of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain’s efforts to support specialized services for children with autism spectrum disorder, provide a comprehensive environment that contributes to their care and rehabilitation, and offer support and guidance to their families.
