Official and religious authorities in Iran expect that over 5 million Iranian pilgrims will arrive in Iraq this year. Meanwhile, 36 mourning processions with 3,500 participants from Mazandaran city in Iran attend the Al-Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

The head of the Mazandaran Headquarters said, "According to the quota allocated by the government to Mazandaran, 36 officially licensed mourning processions will participate this year, expecting over 5 million pilgrims to arrive in Iraq for 10 days."

The head of Mazandaran Reconstruction Headquarters advised visitors not to stay in Iraq for more than three days, especially in Karbala so that other pilgrims can visit easily."
