Egyptian newspaper publishes report on biography and lofty status of Sayyeda Zeinab (peace be upon her)
On the occasion of the reopening of Sayyeda Zeinab Mosque in Cairo, the famous Egyptian daily newspaper 'Al-Ahram' has published a report praising the roles of Sayyeda Zainab, the daughter of Ali ibn Abi Talib, during her blessed life.
The Egyptian newspaper said that "this long-awaited reopening after years of restoration and development work aims to revive the heritage of the granddaughter of the Prophet Muhammad, Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her."
The newspaper added that "this achievement is part of an initiative to develop mosques and shrines of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, which also included the reopening of the mosques of Imam Hussein and Sayyeda Nafisa recently."
The author of the report Nevine El-Arif affirmed that "the mosque and shrine of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, are always crowded with visitors, worshippers, or those seeking spiritual peace."
According to El-Arif, "After Sayyeda Zainab arrived in Egypt following the tragedy of Karbala in 680 AD, Egyptians welcomed her and bestowed upon her several titles such as ‘The Pure’ and 'The Mother of Miracles’."
