Eric Adams, Mayor NY City, signed a historic decree allowing the call to prayer in the city's mosques.

The decree came in response to the request of the Muslim community in the state, and the signing ceremony took place at a press conference held by the city's mayor.

Adams said, "You will hear the call to prayer for the first time through speakers, and this is an important moment for the Muslim community in the city."

He added, "The Muslim community demanded that the call to prayer be announced, and our city celebrates Islamic culture and all cultures, noting that this thing means a lot to Muslims here."

He indicated, "Announcing the call to pray publicly is stated by the law of freedoms, noting that prayers will be performed in public institutions."
