The Yemeni capital, Sana'a, witnessed the inauguration of the first exhibition of Quran manuscripts, which was organized by the Kafel Development Foundation in cooperation with the Grand Mosque Library and the Manuscript House of the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the General Authority for Endowments and the Charitable Association for Teaching the Quran.
The exhibition included 39 manuscripts on paper and 26 manuscripts on parchment, sorted according to the Hijri centuries.
The Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs in Sana'a said in a statement, “Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) granted the Yemeni people a precious gift represented by a copy of the Holy Quran written in his handwriting.”
The exhibition includes Quranic manuscripts from different eras throughout the history of Islam, from the first century AH until the fourteenth century AH.
