An international exhibition featuring AI-generated illustrations has opened at the Imam Redha Holy Shrine in Mashhad, spotlighting religious and cultural themes during the concluding days of the month of Safar.

Organized by the West Asia Division of the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs, the exhibition showcases selected works from the inaugural international event on “AI-Powered Illustration Art.” The exhibition coincides with the final ten days of Safar, the second month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which holds deep religious significance for Shia Muslims.

Held in collaboration with Hodhod Media Agency, the initiative explores innovative ways to present the teachings of Imam Redha (peace be upon him) through emerging technologies. Artists from across the region, including Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, contributed works that aim to foster dialogue through digital creativity.

The collection features a wide array of themes, including portrayals of Lady Masouma (peace be upon her), the life and teachings of Imam Redha (peace be upon him), acts of charity, Islamic shrine architecture, and tributes to pilgrims.

According to organizers, the event attracted hundreds of submissions from countries such as India, Pakistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran. After a thorough technical and thematic review, 147 pieces were selected for public display.

The chosen artworks have been printed and installed at the entrance of the Dar Al-Rahmah Portico, offering visitors a unique fusion of spiritual tradition and technological innovation.

Located in northeastern Iran, the Imam Redha Holy Shrine is among the most revered pilgrimage sites in Shia Islam. Millions of pilgrims are expected to visit the site this weekend to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam.
