Housing complex for low-income families brings hope to those in need
As part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable families, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain is implementing a major residential project along the road linking Karbala and Hilla. The initiative aims to provide a safe and dignified living environment for low-income families through the construction of a fully integrated housing complex.
In a statement to Karbala Now Agency, Project Director Engineer Mohammed Hassan described the “Housing Complex for the Poor” as a significant humanitarian and service initiative. Located in the Al-Ibrahimiyah area near the main Karbala–Hilla highway, the project spans 37.5 hectares and is designed as a complete residential community with modern infrastructure and essential public services.
Hassan explained that the project is supervised by the Strategic Projects Department of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and implemented by Khairat Al-Sibtain Company. He noted that work is progressing rapidly due to the project’s importance in improving the living conditions of beneficiary families.
The complex will include housing units equipped with essential services, along with supporting facilities aimed at creating a secure and stable environment for residents. According to Hassan, the project reflects the humanitarian commitment of the supervising authorities to supporting disadvantaged members of society.
He added that the initiative represents an important step toward strengthening social solidarity by providing dignified housing—one of the key foundations of social stability—especially amid the economic challenges faced by many families. Once completed, the project is expected to offer not only homes, but also renewed hope and a better quality of life for families in need.
