Saudi Arabia showcases digital technologies to enhance religious services and pilgrimage experiences
Saudi Arabia is showcasing a range of digital applications and advanced technologies aimed at improving access to religious services and enhancing pilgrims’ spiritual experiences at its pavilion at an international exhibition, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Among the technologies on display is the Rushd application, which provides electronic services including a digital Quran, prayer times based on the Umm al-Qura calendar, and a Qibla direction tool. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is also presenting an application that helps verify quotations from Islamic texts and authenticate religious references.
The pavilion further features a three-dimensional virtual experience introducing visitors to the rituals and stages of Hajj, alongside virtual reality presentations offering immersive tours of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
