The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain continues to advance its educational and devotional initiatives across several West African countries as part of its broader mission to disseminate the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and strengthen religious awareness within local communities.

In this regard, Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Al-Maliki, Head of the African Activities Division under the Department of Religious Affairs, stated that the Division is actively implementing a series of intensive educational and devotional programs in Nigeria, Niger, and Guinea. These initiatives target diverse segments of society, including men, women, and youth.

He explained that the programs feature comprehensive instructional courses covering doctrinal, jurisprudential, and educational subjects. These include the Principles of Religion (Usul al-Din), Monotheism (Tawhid), issues related to Ijtihad (independent reasoning) and Taqlid (religious emulation), as well as rulings on ritual purity (Taharah). In addition, children receive practical instruction on performing Wudu (ablution), helping to instill correct religious practices from an early age.

Al-Maliki added that the activities also include the delivery of sermons, the establishment of congregational prayers, and study circles dedicated to teaching and interpreting the Holy Quran. These are complemented by moral guidance aimed at reinforcing Islamic values and proper conduct within the community.

These efforts are part of a broader series of ongoing programs led by the Department of Religious Affairs at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain. Together, they seek to promote authentic Islamic teachings in accordance with the methodology of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and to deepen religious awareness across African societies.
