Mohamed Hanoun, spokesperson for the Ministry of Trade, affirmed on Saturday that revitalizing economic and commercial activity remains a top priority for the Ministry, particularly through the resumption and organization of international exhibitions across Iraq following a de-escalation of regional military tensions.

He noted that restarting international exhibitions is a key step toward restoring economic momentum and strengthening trade partnerships with countries around the world.

Hanoun added that coordination is currently underway with relevant government bodies, chambers of commerce, and exhibition organizers to develop a schedule for reopening international exhibitions, ensuring broad participation from local, Arab, and international companies.

He emphasized that the Ministry is working to create a supportive regulatory and security environment that encourages global companies to participate in events held in Iraq.

According to Hanoun, the plan includes organizing 46 specialized exhibitions in Baghdad and other governorates. These events aim to stimulate commercial activity, open new avenues for investment and cooperation, and showcase the economic opportunities available in the Iraqi market.

He concluded by noting that the exhibitions will cover a range of key sectors, including food industries, construction and building materials, energy, manufacturing, as well as technology and logistics—industries considered vital to supporting the national economy and enhancing trade exchange.
