Great Mosque of Kufa is hosting the 15th edition of the Al-Safeer International Cultural Festival, held to commemorate the arrival of Muslim ibn Aqil—the envoy of Imam Hussain ibn Ali—in Kufa.

Ghaith Al-Abidi, Head of the Religious Affairs Department at the mosque, stated that the festival serves as a bridge between past and present by revisiting key historical milestones through a contemporary academic perspective. He noted that the event contributes to raising awareness and fostering balanced intellectual dialogue capable of addressing modern societal challenges.

He added that the launch of the festival’s 15th edition further reinforces its status as a leading cultural and intellectual platform, bringing together scholars and participants from various countries.
