Iraq introduces electronic visas for over 38 countries
Major General Nashat Al-Khafaji, Director General of the Civil Status, Passports, and Residence Department, announced that expatriates can now obtain visas within 24 hours, highlighting that paperwork has been eliminated at all land and air border crossings.
Colonel Mohammed Abbas, Deputy Director of Passports at Baghdad International Airport, emphasized that the new measures align with the government’s commitment to transitioning to electronic and digital systems, as well as ensuring reciprocal treatment with other countries.
He further explained that issuing electronic visas to expatriates abroad is part of the government's effort to regulate entry processes, reduce waiting times, and demonstrate Iraq's dedication to modern, secure electronic systems for processing entry visas.
