Specialists at the Imam Redha Holy Shrine Library, Museum, and Document Center have successfully restored 18,877 rare Quran pages and manuscripts over the past nine months, according to Seyyed Ali Tabatabai, head of cultural artifact restoration at the religious organization.

Tabatabai highlighted this achievement during an interview, underscoring the importance of preserving cultural heritage through meticulous restoration efforts.

“During this period, our team of experts restored 174 Quranic and manuscript volumes, as well as 57 lithographic and lead-printed books from the Holy Shrine collection,” he said.

The restoration work also extended to 1,532 pages of historical documents, 67 old photographs, and nine precious parchment sheets. In addition, specialists carefully separated and restored 150 pages found inside old book covers, which included historically significant documents from various periods.

These restored items are part of the extensive collection at the Imam Redha Holy Shrine, one of the most prominent religious and cultural institutions in the Islamic world, located in Mashhad, Iran.
