Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Participates in the First Syriac Forum to Strengthen National Cohesion

Bayyna Centre for Intellectual and Cultural Security, affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, participates in the first Syriac conference held by the Syriac Culture Directorate at the Ministry of Culture in Kurdistan, northern Iraq, aiming to enhance understanding and cooperation between communities.


Regarding the conference held under the slogan (Syriac is a living culture despite the challenges it faces), Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi stated to the Karbala International Agency, "The conference included many programs and lasted for four days, during which topics related to the Syriac heritage and the preservation of the Syriac culture were discussed."


He explained that "the center's participation in this conference has many dimensions, including that there is an intellectual and cultural cross-pollination and convergence between different religions, as well as an academic presence from various Iraqi universities, including all universities in the region."


Al-Qarawi pointed out, "The conference research addressed many concepts and many visions that contribute to the convergence of religions and cultures in one forum, which is social peace and social cohesion among all members of Iraqi society."


He concluded by saying, "The General Secretariat of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has established many cultural and communication projects in Kurdistan, specifically in Erbil Governorate, in cooperation with cultural, educational, and teaching institutions."
