From “Ras Al-Beesha”, the southernmost part of Iraq, pilgrims start walking to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in Karbala, to commemorate The Arbaeen, which marks the fortieth day following the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, his family and companions (peace be upon them).

Mawkibs serve these pilgrims -in addition to the millions joining them along the way- with free accommodation, food and drink, until they reach the entrance to the Holy Shrines of Imam Hussain and his brother Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
