3rd Annual International Seerah Festival concludes in Islamabad
The 3rd Annual International Seerah Festival, dedicated to the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), concluded in Pakistan’s capital after three days of scholarly, literary, and cultural activities. Organized by the National Authority for “Mercy to the Worlds and Seal of the Prophets” (peace be upon him), the festival brought together government officials, scholars, intellectuals, and cultural figures to promote awareness of the noble Seerah and its universal values of mercy, justice, and compassion.
The festival featured a range of activities, including the International Seerah Conference, a book fair, an Arabic calligraphy exhibition, book launches, public speaking competitions, an evening of Naat (poetry in praise of the Prophet), and a youth forum dedicated to the Prophetic Biography.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, attended the opening ceremony as the guest of honor. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar attended a book launch ceremony, while the book fair and calligraphy exhibition were also inaugurated.
On the second day, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal attended the opening session of the International Seerah Conference. Scholars and researchers explored various aspects of the Prophetic Biography, focusing on its relevance to contemporary intellectual and social challenges. On the final day, a Youth Forum on the Prophetic Biography was held in the festival’s main hall. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Head of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, attended as the guest of honor. Discussions highlighted the importance of introducing younger generations to the Seerah and its role in character development, moral education, and personal and social responsibility.
The book fair and literary events showcased publications and research on the Prophetic Biography, while the calligraphy exhibition celebrated the beauty of Islamic art and its rich cultural heritage.
The festival aimed to deepen understanding of the Prophet’s teachings, encourage scholarly dialogue, and strengthen young people’s connection to Islamic heritage. It also highlighted the universal message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), emphasizing mercy, justice, tolerance, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence.
The three-day event concluded by reaffirming the importance of the Seerah as a guide for individual character development and social well-being, as part of the National Authority’s efforts to promote the Prophetic teachings in intellectual, educational, and social life, particularly among students and young people.
