The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, represented by the Al-Sadiq Al-Amin Intellectual and Cultural Division in Mosul, commemorated the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) by organizing a three-day mourning gathering in the Tal Afar district of Nineveh Governorate. The gathering featured the participation of Hussaini orator His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Al-Durr Al-Amili.

The event was attended by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sayed Hussein Aslan, along with a number of clerics and a large gathering of local residents.

During the gathering, the orator addressed the life and legacy of Lady Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), highlighting her exalted status in the eyes of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and the values of patience, sacrifice, and steadfastness reflected in her life, which has made her an exemplary role model for Muslims.

Sheikh Khalil Al-Alyawi, head of the Al-Sadiq Al-Amin Intellectual and Cultural Division within the Religious Affairs Department, said that the gatherings aim to commemorate the martyrdom of Lady Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), introduce her biography and exalted status, and highlight the lessons and insights associated with the occasion, particularly those concerning patience, steadfastness, and the defense of truth.

He added that such gatherings provide an important opportunity to present the history of authentic Islam and draw inspiration from the life of the “Truthful and Pure Lady” (peace be upon her), particularly her resilience in the face of injustice and her steadfast adherence to principle. He also emphasized the importance of highlighting the injustices she endured and the enduring human and Islamic values embodied in her life.

Sheikh Al-Alyawi noted that organizing these gatherings in Nineveh Governorate for the ninth consecutive year forms part of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain’s ongoing efforts to commemorate religious occasions, promote Islamic culture, and strengthen bonds of connection and communication among members of society.
