The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayechi, along with several department heads, conducted a field visit to review the progress of the Courtyard of Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) project. Special focus was given to the “Tuwereej Run Route,” one of the project’s key components being carried out by the Expansion Projects Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.

The delegation carried out a comprehensive on-site inspection to evaluate the stages of completion. The project is regarded as one of the Holy Shrine’s major strategic initiatives within its broader expansion plan. During the tour, officials reviewed ongoing construction work and observed the advanced completion rates across multiple sections of the project, including the dedicated route designed to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and Hussaini mourning processions during major pilgrimage occasions.

Engineer Hussain Redha Mahdi, Head of the Expansion Projects Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, stated, “The visit by the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaei, the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayechi, and several department heads aimed to monitor the progress of work within the Courtyard of Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) project, particularly the Tuwereej Run Route, in preparation for the upcoming large-scale pilgrimage events.”

He explained that the project forms part of the major expansion of the Courtyard of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), with a total built-up area of approximately 90,000 square meters.

He further noted that the Tuwereej Run Route extends across approximately 14,000 square meters and has been specifically designed to accommodate large crowds of pilgrims and Hussaini mourning processions during major religious commemorations.
