Delegation from Imam Hussain Cultural Center meets former Jamaat-e-Islami leader in Islamabad
A delegation from the Imam Hussain Cultural Center in Islamabad, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, visited former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq at his residence to discuss avenues for religious, cultural, and social cooperation.
The delegation was headed by Sheikh Ahmed Hussain Fakhruddin and included Dr. Zulfiqar Ali and Dr. Muhammad Askari. During the meeting, both sides discussed a range of religious, political, and social issues, with particular emphasis on promoting interfaith harmony, coexistence, and mutual respect within society.
The delegation presented an overview of the academic, religious, humanitarian, and social services provided by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain. They also highlighted several ongoing educational, medical, relief, and cultural projects being carried out in Iraq, emphasizing the shrine’s role in serving humanity, strengthening the unity of the Islamic Ummah, and promoting the values of moderation and Islamic ethics.
Discussions also focused on the religious, cultural, and intellectual activities organized by the Imam Hussain Cultural Center in Islamabad, as well as the importance of increasing intellectual awareness among youth and reinforcing social stability in Pakistani society.
The main purpose of the visit was to deliver an official invitation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain to Siraj-ul-Haq to visit Iraq. The invitation includes an opportunity to visit the holy shrines and observe firsthand the educational, religious, and humanitarian projects affiliated with the shrine.
For his part, Siraj-ul-Haq expressed appreciation for the visit and praised the humanitarian, religious, and relief efforts undertaken by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain. He also stressed the importance of unity within the Islamic Ummah and the need to strengthen mutual respect and shared religious and social values.
