The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched the fourth edition of the “Study in Iraq” program, reaffirming its commitment to providing an academic environment aligned with international standards.

In remarks marking the occasion, Acting Minister Helo Al-Askari announced that the program’s online platform is now open to international applicants. Undergraduate applications will be accepted from May 4, 2026, through the end of July, while postgraduate applications will remain open until the end of September.

Al-Askari explained that the scholarship initiative is tailored for international students seeking to study at Iraqi universities across a wide range of scientific and humanities disciplines.

He noted that the program has already achieved significant success, admitting more than 5,000 students from 60 countries worldwide. For the 2026–2027 academic year, the fourth edition aims not only to sustain these numbers but also to further enrich academic and cultural diversity across participating institutions.

The minister emphasized that the Ministry continues to dedicate its full resources to strengthening educational quality, supporting capacity building, advancing curricula, and keeping pace with rapid developments in global knowledge. He described the program as a key pillar of Iraq’s internationalization strategy and an important gateway for attracting students from around the world to its universities.
