The Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage Tourism and Handicrafts announced on Saturday that 56 museums, historical landmarks, and cultural sites across Iran have been subjected to U.S.-Israeli bombardment.

In a statement, the ministry said the targeted locations included museums, historic monuments, and cultural zones across several regions of the country.

The ministry added that the attacks caused damage to a number of heritage structures that form an important part of Iran’s civilizational and cultural legacy. Authorities have begun assessing the extent of the damage while taking necessary measures to protect historical landmarks and preserve cultural heritage.

According to the statement, Tehran Province recorded the highest number of affected heritage sites, with 19 locations reported damaged, followed by Kurdistan Province, where 12 major historical landmarks were also impacted.
