Border Ports Authority: Over 187,000 pilgrims have entered Iraq for Arbaeen Pilgrimage
The Border Ports Authority announced on Sunday that the number of pilgrims arriving in Iraq through nine air and land entry points to participate in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) has surpassed 187,000 as of Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Spokesperson for the Authority, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, stated, “Official statistics recorded as of Saturday are as follows:
Zurbatiyah Port: 87,598 pilgrims
Shalamcheh Port: 52,929 pilgrims
Al-Mundhiriyah Port: 14,859 pilgrims
Al-Shayb Port: 11,780 pilgrims
Safwan Port: 2,596 pilgrims
Haj Omran Port: 2,935 pilgrims
Bashmakh Port: 1,434 pilgrims
Baghdad International Airport: 7,187 pilgrims
Najaf International Airport: 6,056 pilgrims
Al-Qaisi confirmed that the total number of pilgrims who have entered Iraq so far for the pilgrimage stands at 187,347.
