The Fourth International Al-Aqsa Call Conference commenced on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Al-Zahraa University for Women in Karbala, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).

More than 60 countries from across the Arab world and beyond took part in the conference, which served as a global platform to reaffirm solidarity with the Palestinian people and confront ongoing aggression in Gaza and the West Bank.

The conference centered on three key themes: Political and legal mechanisms to counter the war of extermination; International efforts to break the siege and resist displacement projects; Strategies to unify civil society organizations in forming effective international pressure groups for Palestine.

Participants unanimously called for an immediate end to the war of extermination and starvation targeting the Palestinian population, urging unified Arab action against the Zionist entity and reaffirming the right of the Palestinian people to reclaim their usurped land.

The conference also called for intensified pressure on the Egyptian government and people to open humanitarian passages and allow vital aid to reach Gaza.

Dr. Jamal Al-Asadi, a professor of Arabic language from Morocco, highlighted the deep-rooted significance of the Palestinian cause for the Moroccan people.

"For us Moroccans, Palestine holds the same importance as our own national causes. We did not hesitate to attend this conference, especially in Karbala—a city known for its legacy of resistance and sacrifice, embodied by the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)," he said.

Dr. Al-Asadi criticized the silence, or in some cases, complicity of Arab regimes regarding Palestine, contrasting this with the proactive support many Western nations extend to Ukraine.

He further condemned the inaction of international organizations, arguing that the ongoing siege of Gaza has laid bare the hypocrisy of Western claims about international law and human rights.

Emphasizing the power of popular solidarity, Dr. Al-Asadi urged Arab and international movements to draw lessons from South Africa’s successful struggle against apartheid. He said, “The keffiyeh has become a global symbol of liberation, and the slogan ‘Palestine, Palestine, unites the world’ is more relevant today than ever before.”
