‘Week of Births’ Festival launches at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain hosted the opening of the ‘Week of Births’ Festival, commemorating the births of the revered Imams: Imam Hussain, Imam Al-Sajjad, and Al-Abbas ibn Ali (peace be upon them) during the first week of Shaaban. The event saw a large turnout of religious scholars, academic figures, and media outlets.
Hajj Ali Kadhem Sultan, head of the Shrine’s Festivals and Religious Occasions Department, highlighted the festival's key event—the international scientific conference titled ‘Imam Hussain: The Heir of the Prophets and the Descendant of the Guardians.’ The conference featured over 700 research papers from 22 countries, presented in four languages.
At the conference, the top ten researchers were honored for their contributions. Sultan explained, “The conference seeks to affirm the divine inheritance of Imam Hussain and illuminate its true meaning and significance. Additionally, it emphasizes that the Husseini message is of divine origin, showcasing the profound knowledge associated with visiting the Heir of the Prophets.”
The festival also featured a book fair, offering thousands of publications in multiple languages, with participation from a wide range of Arab and international publishing houses.
