Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called on the international communities to recognize Palestine as an independent state and work towards granting it full membership in the United Nations.
Sánchez made the remarks during his participation in the Socialist International Conference, held in Rabat, Morocco.
“The Zionist occupation must be ended and the Palestinian people must be able to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he added.
The Spanish PM stressed the need to “combine efforts to confront the escalating crises in different parts of the world, especially in Palestine.”
